PHOTOGRAPHY
Bienvenue, and thanks for stopping by! I’m Alice, a French wildlife and conservation photographer and storyteller, dedicated to (re)connecting man and nature. Passionate about Conservation, Art, Philosophy, Literature and Classics. I’ve started working on ways to intertwine these interests in my written work (see my articles) and photography. If this has sparked your curiosity, read on for a little more!
My Portfolio presents favourite shots taken over the years. It is filled with content from my travels, explorations and expeditions, as well as places I call home, creating an original mosaic where gorillas play next to the French West Coast, where Atlantic waves crash against the dry Kenyan bush, and where giraffes and turtles coexist. I may a little slow at updating it, so my Instagram (link below) will perhaps have more recent work. And stay tuned for some unpublished work to come to the scene!
The philosopher Kant believed art stopped being art the moment it served a purpose other than itself. But art is incredibly powerful in connecting people and the world we live in.
As cultural and conscious beings, we use sentiment to guide us, making sense of our surroundings (of all types, emotional, environmental, social, professional..). I see photography as a powerful tool to raise awareness through beauty, through originality, through emotion or via any other mark of consciousness people apply to their surroundings; to engage with people and understand how they create their own links with the world. This is particularly relevant for nature conservation, bringing to light crucial topics such as diversity, socio-ecological resilience and the intertwined interests of human and non-human beings. I really hope you enjoy what I do - everything comes from the depths of my heart, promise!
If you wish to purchase any prints, see below for details and drop me an email, (see the About section). 50% of the funds will be donated to various conservation projects I have either worked with or visited, the other half help me travel.
I offer 6 different standard print sizes, ranging across A4, A3, A2, A1, 40” and 60”. If you wish to have them customised, I am working in association with L'Atelier de Bedford, a bespoke exceptionally talented frame maker. Everything is made by hand and with love.
Printing is with the Printspace, a wonderful carbon-neutral lab based in the UK and Germany - been using them for years and I adore them. The main paper I use is from Hahnemühle, who have developed an absolutely incredible ‘natural’ line, printing on sustainable paper made from bamboo, hemp and more!
These are the basic services, however, based on your budget, we can design and evaluate various options to ensure you're entirely happy with your purchase. The type of paper, mix and matching different pictures in the same frame...the choice is yours. Just send me an email @aliceperetie@gmail.com, or contact me via my website, Instagram or Facebook! I'd be delighted to hear from you x
I don’t know if I can say that I’m a conservationist before being a photographer and writer, as they are very intertwined and interconnected parts of me, but I definitely cannot do one without the other. In fact, going on assignments for organisations and lodges, or sustainable companies is perhaps one of my main sources of excitement and determination. Whether it’s in-house marketing, generating photos and words for the organisation or publishing their story into magazines, or actual conservation work (report writing, analysis, literature reviews…), I’m incredibly fortunate and excited to be able to support conservation initiatives through more than just print sale donations.
Clients and partners include African Parks Network, Chengeta Wildlife, Nyayo Magazine, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, By Life Connected…. I cannot wait for this list to grow. So if you like my work, my words, my mission, or if you’d like to know more, please drop me an email, or click here to discover past projects!
