Thanks for stopping by! My name is Alice Péretié, and I am an amateur wildlife and landscape photographer. Finally, finally, after a good two years of waiting, I've decided to create my gallery. So you'll find most of my pictures from 2015/2016, as well as my 'Best of' from previous years. Just click on the photos to see them full size.
Currently, I'm shooting with a Canon Eos 80D. Over 2017 I intend on getting a full frame (probably a 5diii or iv). My lenses include a 17-55mm f/2:8, a 70-200mm f/2:8 (both Canon) and a Tamron 150-600mm. Pictures older than 2016 were taken with a Canon 600D, and 70-300mm or 18-50mm.
Everyone has their own approach to photography. We all have different expectations, different aspirations and different interests. Having the privilege to be able to capture the "wilderness" in a wave break, for example, is what drives me.
But it's also more than that. I've always been intrigued by the environment. Now that I'm coming to the point where I have to chose what exactly and where exactly I want to take my life -or where I want life to take me more like- I've realised that with my photography, at least, I want to be useful. Raising awareness through beauty, through originality, through wonder or via any other human sentiment people apply on their surroundings is achievable at a small scale like mine. As long as humanity keeps trying to interpret and romanticise Nature, there will be room for photographers who want to achieve more than just portray beauty with their shots. Wildlife conservation strikes me as the more obvious example. Being able to promote what I believe in through what I do is, I find, a beautiful way to sum up how I percieve photography. I hope you enjoy my work !
If you wish to purchase any of them, drop me an email (see the About section). 75% of the funds will be donated to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, to help them towards their various conservation action plans.
